Melaka Holiday (Part 2)

After one event and learning about kissing feet in the St Paul's Church, dad suggested to head on to Jonker Street. My face is turning red as a tomato and getting flushed because of the fire hot weather outside, our feet are getting tired of walking and it's way too far to get there from the church. So, we took a taxi to get there.
Finally, we reach our destination. And RM15 doesn't sound so bad :). We went into one coffee shop, I forgot the name, to cool ourselves and rejuvanate our energies. Besides, it's air-conditioning inside. And my, it's really crowded with people. What amazes me are the cute dolls inside the shop as decorations :D!! Perhaps it could give me some ideas for my next Arts and Drama class.

There were more of these dolls upstairs. Good thing one family leaves the table and we got a good seat at last. Plus, it has a good view from below. We also saw a lady making pineapple tarts. But not as tasty as my mom's tarts. He he!

This shop is famous for its cendol and my mom orders it. Dad got a glass of iced coffee and I got a bottle of lime juice. But to my disgust, it taste very strange. But luckily it's in a bottle.

Yes, more dolls. But very cute.

After we replenish our bodies, we head to Melaka's famous red building called Christ Church. And OMG!! It's getting really super hot, like I'm in an oven. Mom managed to took some good pictures of the building for memories.

Yes, there are lots of trishaws in Melaka.

We were about to go until I saw some people going up the stairs. I told my parents to have a look. And I realised there's a museum up there. Only me and mom purchase the tickets. Dad remained behind.
Inside the museum, it's like taking me back to learning Malaysian History again during my school days. Ha ha! But it's worth visiting it cause it tells people how the Dutch and Portuguese invaded Melaka. I remember some of the names before in school. Even in my Malay literature.
What interested us are the famous and historical artifacts. I can only put a few because we took too many photos. But you can see more in my Facebook photo albums. It's all uploaded now :). Click here to see more of these artifacts.

Next after visiting the musuem, we went back to Jonker Street to see the outdoor market. According to the 1st taxi driver, he said there is gonna be a lively night market there. It's something like we see in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Night market and all these kind but it's the one we see every Wednesday at our place. I got myself a mango shorbet ^^. It was better than the lime juice. We see so many varieties to choose from like popiah, more homemade pineapple tarts, accessories etc. It's really cool.
As the sun beats down still but not so much since it's almost evening time, we took another taxi back but this time to another hotel, which is not Mahkota. I can't spell the name of the hotel. But don't worry. It's only a short distance back to our car ;).

To be continue in part 3......
