Prince William and Kate's Wedding

royal wedding social media twitter

Prince William, Duke of Cambridge and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge smile following their marriage at Westminster Abbey

Congratulations to Prince William and Kate on their marriage today. Lucky I can get to watch the royal wedding live on tv. They will soon be the future king and queen of England :). The crowds there were really wild about it. Especially the kiss on the balcony. Aww! How romantic♥
As you know, Kate is actually a commoner. She met William in the same university. My, she's lucky to marry a prince. True fairy tale indeed.

Melaka Holiday (Part 3)

The sun is almost beating down. Earlier, we wanted to try the best Nyonya food in Melaka. And so we did :D!! We found one Nyonya restaurant, and I suggest to them to eat early in case there's a traffic jam along the way back to our hotel.
We found the best table near the koi fish pond. The sun is glaring at our side, so I wear my dad's cap until the sun stops glaring.
Finally, the sun is setting down, so I removed my cap. There's a lady in the restaurant who gave us some of the homemade pineapple tarts we saw earlier at the market. How nice of her :). Our dinner came at last. They're so delicious.

Oyster omelette

This is something like chicken curry but it's not spicy.

While eating our dinner, dad suddenly said there's an event going on outside the restaurant. So I went out to check it out. It was some kind of possession to celebrate Good Friday. And I realised the crowd were the people from St Paul's Church. And they took out the statues we saw earlier (see my part 1 review). But they only took out Jesus lying down and the Virgin Mary. And all are holding candles and saying one prayer which I couldn't hear properly.
Wow! What an event indeed. According to the lady who gave us the tarts, they were doing this for the first time after so many years. I almost drop my jaw. "Doing this possession for the first time?!!" I thought. They must be waiting to do this.
And it's a good thing we ate and stay behind so that we won't endure with the crowd and the traffic jam outside.
Well, my adventures are over for the day. We went back to our hotel tired and happy. I was happy and glad that it didn't rain and I got to see the possession for the very first time in my life, though I'm not a Catholic :).

It was really worth a trip. For those who haven't gone to Melaka yet, please do so. It's an attractive place for foreigners. I hope you enjoy reading my reviews.

Melaka Holiday (Part 2)

After one event and learning about kissing feet in the St Paul's Church, dad suggested to head on to Jonker Street. My face is turning red as a tomato and getting flushed because of the fire hot weather outside, our feet are getting tired of walking and it's way too far to get there from the church. So, we took a taxi to get there.
Finally, we reach our destination. And RM15 doesn't sound so bad :). We went into one coffee shop, I forgot the name, to cool ourselves and rejuvanate our energies. Besides, it's air-conditioning inside. And my, it's really crowded with people. What amazes me are the cute dolls inside the shop as decorations :D!! Perhaps it could give me some ideas for my next Arts and Drama class.

There were more of these dolls upstairs. Good thing one family leaves the table and we got a good seat at last. Plus, it has a good view from below. We also saw a lady making pineapple tarts. But not as tasty as my mom's tarts. He he!

This shop is famous for its cendol and my mom orders it. Dad got a glass of iced coffee and I got a bottle of lime juice. But to my disgust, it taste very strange. But luckily it's in a bottle.

Yes, more dolls. But very cute.

After we replenish our bodies, we head to Melaka's famous red building called Christ Church. And OMG!! It's getting really super hot, like I'm in an oven. Mom managed to took some good pictures of the building for memories.

Yes, there are lots of trishaws in Melaka.

We were about to go until I saw some people going up the stairs. I told my parents to have a look. And I realised there's a museum up there. Only me and mom purchase the tickets. Dad remained behind.
Inside the museum, it's like taking me back to learning Malaysian History again during my school days. Ha ha! But it's worth visiting it cause it tells people how the Dutch and Portuguese invaded Melaka. I remember some of the names before in school. Even in my Malay literature.
What interested us are the famous and historical artifacts. I can only put a few because we took too many photos. But you can see more in my Facebook photo albums. It's all uploaded now :). Click here to see more of these artifacts.

Next after visiting the musuem, we went back to Jonker Street to see the outdoor market. According to the 1st taxi driver, he said there is gonna be a lively night market there. It's something like we see in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Night market and all these kind but it's the one we see every Wednesday at our place. I got myself a mango shorbet ^^. It was better than the lime juice. We see so many varieties to choose from like popiah, more homemade pineapple tarts, accessories etc. It's really cool.
As the sun beats down still but not so much since it's almost evening time, we took another taxi back but this time to another hotel, which is not Mahkota. I can't spell the name of the hotel. But don't worry. It's only a short distance back to our car ;).

Melaka Holiday (Part 1)

My review is gonna be very long. I hope you won't be bored reading it. Some photos were taken from either my mom's phone or my phone.

We left our house around 10 am for our holiday to Melaka. During the journey, I listen to my favorite music on my phone with my headset. On the way there, we stop at a restplace to go to the toilet. After we came out, I was hungry cause I didn't have any breakfast in the morning but just drank water. And yeah, I'm fasting for breakfast. Ha ha. So anyways, there's a Baskin Robbins' Ice Cream shop just opposite the food court outside. We went there to buy ice cream :). Yum! I order a chocolate ice cream in a cup with no sugar added. Very unique but tasty. I managed to finish it before we even reach Melaka. While in the car waiting, I wrote the word "Libera", a famous boy choir from UK, with a spoon on the cup. Ha ha!

Sorry if you can't see the word.

Finally, we reach Melaka at last!! And my, it's sizzling hot outside. Our hotel is suppose to be Klebang Beach Resort, but it's really far away from the main street and plus, it's crowded with people since it's Good Friday and you know what happens during Good Friday in Melaka. Well, I'll tell you later once I finish writing on finding our hotel.
We try every hotel we could find but all are fully booked. The reason is Singapore is having a public holiday!!! That's why we could see so many Singaporean cars along the way. Whew! But a miracle came when we reach Mahkota Hotel. There are two more rooms available in Lotus wing. So we booked in that room and we're satisfied!! Now we can go eat lunch!!!
We head to Mahkota Parade Mall just opposite our hotel to have lunch since it's too hot to eat outside those hawker stalls. We went up to a food court. Our lunch for that day is chicken rice balls. They're very delicious. But I didn't call that one. Instead, I order a chicken salad with rice.

Doesn't it look delicious :)?

Next, we went to Giant supermarket to buy some snacks back to eat in the hotel. But I believe we won't have time to munch on them. On the way back to our hotel, three Caucasian tourists asked us where is the church on top of the hill. "Church on top of the hill?!" I thought. I believe the church their referring to is the St Paul's Church, if I'm not mistaken. Dad suggest to them to take a taxi to the church. After our thanks, we continue to go back. Whew! I'm glad that's over.
Dad wanted to take us to St Paul's Church to see how the Catholics kiss the feet of Jesus. This is a very unique thing I heard for the first time. Usually this special day of each year, the RC (Roman Catholic) goes to the church and kiss the feet of the statue of Jesus who died on the cross. But this time, the church he's taking us is where Jesus was lying down. He also knows that church very well since he was a Catholic before he became a Protestant. He told us he went there with his family during Good Friday.
So, we did went to the famous St Paul's Church for the first time. That church has been here since 1710, during the invasion of the Portuguese. Wow! Can you imagined how long that church has been?

Yup. This is the church.

It's really fire burning hot outside the church. There are two tents in between the doors. One was lighting up the candles and making the crosses and the other was a huge statue of the Virgin Mary, where the people there touch it for blessings.
Still we couldn't find where the statue of Jesus lying down is. Until dad showed us through the window. There we can see two statues and a portrait of Jesus crucifying on the cross behind them. The one my dad mentioned is the one lying down, trap in a glass case. We're not allowed to go into the room but mom managed to take a photo of the statue through the window. For memories, of course :).

Don't ask what are the flowers for at the bottom.

I only saw a few people went into the room. I guess people must be waiting inside the church for their turn to kiss the feet. I wonder what are the coin boxes for :/?

Going Off To Melaka

I'm so excited!! Tomorrow me and my family are going off to Melaka for a family holiday :)!! It's been a while since we went there. I forgot when. All I remember is where we go A Famosa last year during my after-SPM-exam holiday.
It's good to go there again to sightseeing. I'll be sure to write a review from my adventures.

Weekend Dinner Night Out

We had two delicious dinner last weekend. I'll explain from the beginning.

For Saturday:-
Jia Ning, my cousin who is 21 this year, knows one steamboat place in Puchong which is really nice. I forgot the name of the restaurant she mentioned. When we reach there, it was self-service. I find this is like a buffet restaurant in a hotel. Well, the buffet has lots of variety to choose from. One side is cooked, the other side is for you to cooked with. After we get our food, we ate our chicken wings, which is very delicious, while waiting for the steamboat pot to come out.
And finally it came. What's unique is that the top part is for BBQ!! Now I understand why it's called BBQ! Ha ha! Anyways, a lady puts butter and chicken skin on top. It's used as oil. We decided to barbeque our food first because the water hasn't boiled yet.
We really had a good time eating and chatting with our family members.

For Sunday (which is yesterday):-
Me and my dad were planning to celebrate my mom's birthday that night since we don't have time to celebrate her actual birthday on Monday. We actually planned on going to Secret Recipe that night. But when we're driving along the road in Taman Segar, we saw that Italian restaurant is opened for business again!! At first, we thought they closed down. But no, they're back in business. The name of that restaurant is called Venezia
So many people inside there having dinner. We order a pizza that is the same name as the place and two main course. I like my mom's dish better.
I would like to say Happy Birthday, mama!! I'll love you always!!!

Home Made Cupcakes

Yesterday my mom baked her very own delicious chocolate cupcakes for my relatives that came down from Penang, my Maths teacher and the church group. It was like the old times. Which means it was still delicious><!! I like it so much. At first, we taste it plain. But later, my mom added icing and decoration onto them. And here's the example below:-

Aren't they cute?

Personally, I don't like cupcakes with icing on it. But I got no choice but to like it.

Painting Day!!

For Arts and Drama class last Wednesday, each group had to cut out anything (animals, shapes, words etc.) out from cardboard and then paint of colour them with crayons/poster paint on a mahjong paper.
Well, for our group, me and the four other members did sea creatures living under the sea. And we decided to call our painting, "Under The Sea!" And we also sing the tune from it. Ha ha!!
Here's our masterpiece below. I didn't have the chance to take a photo of other group's artwork since we're the only group that finishes the first :p.

Play Dough Models

During Arts and Drama class last Wednesday, our lecturer ask each groups to make anything we imagine out of our own made play dough. We bought a bowl, flour and food colourings as our materials for the night. Our hands were really filled with food colourings back then. When we washed up, it's difficult to remove the colourings from our hands. Even the bowls. The seniors watches us like parents while we do our work as kids. Ha ha!
Anyways, here's our group's artwork we've done.

4 colourful birds and a turtle eating Pajeon (Korean pancake), I think. Mine is the green bird. Sorry, I don't know how to make it nice like my group members did.

Below are some other artwork done by other groups in class. Don't they look cute^^?

A burger with a smiley face.

Looks like a garden to me.

Random models.

A fantasy garden. Like the caterpillars♥
