Going Off To Penang Tomorrow

Yep. It's confirmed. I'm going to see my aunt and three cousins in Penang tomorrow morning. I'll miss my chat with Libera friends online though. Hope I can bring back some good photos. I'll be back probably on Thursday. See you soon :).

Lanterns + Mooncake Festivals

Okay, so you wanna know how the lanterns look like here in Malaysia? Well, I found some old lanterns in my store room. Although they look old, at least they're good for childhood memories :). Mom managed to add new batteries into my lanterns. Let me tell you a detail about the type of lanterns and what is Mooncake Festival.
There are two types of lanterns sold here in Malaysia. Candle type and Music type. The candle type is a lantern where you light up the lantern with candle, of course. Old style, I must say. Here's how the paper lantern (candle type) look like:-

The music type is quite modern and a lot of kids got those now. It's where you have the switch on the stick where you can on or off the music, any random music you get each lantern you buy. Some lanterns are really cute and pretty. Here are some of my photos I took just now of how the music type lantern look like:-

My 2 year old cousin, Yue Xin, got an angry bird (the tiny blue bird) lantern. But sorry, no photo of it yet. I'll try to get one later when I see her next time.
They always sell these at wet markets or supermarkets just before Mooncake Festival. And they're quite cheap :).
Mooncake Festival is a fun time where family spent at their relatives' house, playing with lanterns/fire crackers and eating delicious mooncakes. Here's a picture of how mooncakes look like:-

I remember one time at my cousin's house in Penang, we used to play fire crackers when we're young. Now that we're big, we don't play those anymore. I miss playing them. They let me take back one lantern back home to the city :). I chose the helicopter one (pic above).

I Pass My Maths Exam!

When I got home this afternoon, I went to the mailbox as usual to see if there's any mail for us today and yesterday. I got a mail too. Oh no! It's my result for the retake of SPM. But good news! My mom said I got a C for maths, which means it's a credit!! YAY!!! I passed my Maths exam!! I quickly contact my math teacher who tutor me. She was also pleased with it.
It doesn't matter if it's not A, since I'm not an A score person. I'm still happy for what I have. Thank you for answering my prayers, God :D!!

Back Home At Last

Last Saturday, our roof leaked and wet my parents' bed, the computer (not the monitor), and the other part of the room too. Even the dust bin. Boy, it must been a bad storm recently. Good thing I noticed it and quickly informed my parents who were downstairs. Mom quickly called the man to come and repair. We had to shift all our stuff to my room. Luckily my room isn't wet. So, since we don't have any bed to sleep for the night (except for my bed), we have to sleep at my aunt's house for the time being until everything is okay to move back.
Of course, staying at my aunt's home isn't so bad and after all, it's quite near to our home. Except I had to endure her cute but noisy 2 year old daughter. Plus, connection there is very bad. Even I can't get any connection on mom's laptop.
After a week there, it's time to go back home. But before we head home, we went to buy some supplies for ourselves at the wet market this morning. Yue Xin got an angry bird lantern with music. I used to have those too when I was a kid. Not just Hari Raya is coming, but Mooncake festival too. That's why they are selling lanterns and mooncakes around every shop, even supermarkets.
Well, here I am!! Back home in my very own house :)!!

Pass My Exams

Hey guys. Sorry I was unable to update my diary due to Libera concert reviews and stuff. Boy! It's been a busy semester break. Well, my 3 weeks of break is up. Will be going back to college for the new semester next Monday.
Last week, while I was checking on FB, one of my friends told us to check our emails as our results are out. I was feeling a bit tingly on the insides. But to my surprise, I pass all my tests!!!! Of course, no A's, but that's ok. At least it's better than nothing :). I was treated a good dinner for the weekends. Saturday I was treated a Western meal and on Sunday, mom made a seafood pizza.
