Movie Day + Visiting New Baby

On Friday, we had Malaysia Day holiday. So that means no class for us or school on this occasion. It's a public holiday, if ya ask me. Our CF (Christian Fellowship) group organize an outing to go see a movie called "Johnny English Reborn".
We all gather in MCKL first before we decide on the place. Originally, we were going to KLCC for the movie but they told on FB that there's no tickets available left. So we change the venue to Viva Home.
Inside the cinema, it was kind of narrowed and there's only 6 seats in the middle. So we took the back row in the middle, that means me and the other 5 students. The show is so funny :D.
After the movie, we had lunch at the food court (same floor as the cinema). I had pizza for lunch. Good thing the pizza isn't that large. My parents were in the mall to pick me up. So I won't have to go back to the college with the rest. Lucky timing too because it's gonna rain soon!!
In the evening, we pick up Jia Min from the train station. She just came back from Mid Valley. She wanted to see my aunt's new baby. Jia Ning can't join us because she has activity in her university. So maybe next time she can see the baby.
We found out that the baby is a girl. So that makes Yue Xin an older sister :D.

The new baby all wrapped up, sleeping.

Since Jia Min can't stay at my aunt's house because of her relatives from her husband's side came and it's too noisy. So she stayed at my house in my room :). She'll be going back to UKM on Saturday.
I had a good holiday that day :).

Steamboat Family Dinner

Last Saturday, me and mom were having a family steamboat dinner at Uncle Koon Kong's apartment. The whole family is there. Even my cousins from Penang came down. Well actually, they came down is because Jia Ning and Jia Min have to go back to University on Monday and have to set up their rooms on Sunday morning, as their long semester break is over. Two more cousins, Vickie and Willie, also came. We had a blast that night. Good food and good time. We had a group photo down by the playroom near a swimming pool. My uncle will post that later on FB.

Holiday in Penang - Day 3

Okay, here comes Day 3's review. This is the final review of my holiday. Here goes:
My aunt woke us up to go and buy buttermilk at Tesco. Jia Ning wants to try and make the red velvet cake. Jia Min left for KL to do some project with her friend yesterday night. We were suppose to go home on that day but due to some reason, we decided to postponed it to Friday morning. So that means I'll stay in their house for one more night.
So, after breakfast, only me, mom, my aunt and Jia Ning went to Tesco. We got all the things we needed and then head back to their house. It's not very long to find the ingredients.
I was watching Gran Torino with dad. Then when I got bored, I take a sneak peek at their cooking to see how they are doing. Lol! It looks red.
When the cake was ready, I taste it. And it was good!! Not 100% excellent but good. I like it. While we're eating, we watched Mr Bean Live Action. The episode for today was The Curse of Mr Bean. The episode includes Mr Bean going to the pool, eating a disgusting sandwich and going to see a horror movie with his girlfriend.
Then it's lunch time. My aunt took us to a northen indian restaurant. I called cheese naan. It was delicious but the curry is spicy. It burned my tongue. Good thing our drinks came by then. We came back with full stomach. Burp!
That evening, we went to Queens Bay mall to have our dinner. We ate at a food court on the upper floor.

Actually, Jia Hao wanted to see the new movie, The Smurfs. But unfortunately, the seats that were left were the front row. We don't like to see movies in front. So we give it up and go somewhere.
But we did see something interesting. A restaurant where your dishes are served in a toilet bowl. How interesting. Even the seats are toilet bowls. Ha ha!!

After a long walk in the mall, some of us are hungry again. So we went to another hawker stores to have Lobak again, satay and oyster omelette. My stomach feels like exploding. Just joking.
Before I end my review, to end our night in Penang, me and Jia Ning put some facial masks on for pure skins. She asked me want to scared the others next room. I said no thank you. Ha ha!!

So that's the end of my holiday. Hope you enjoy reading it.

Holiday in Penang - Day 2

For Day 2, my aunt is taking us to the famous cendol store in the city of Penang. Oh yes, I forgot to mention this. My relatives are staying in Butterworth, so we had to drive to the main city by crossing the famous bridge in Penang.
We took in two separate cars. Me and mom ride with Jia Ning and Jia Min while my dad goes with my uncle, aunt and Jia Hao. It's a good thing I ride in the car with the two sisters. And I'll tell you why later :).
After our lovely breakfast at Homestyle Kopitiam, we head along to the main city by crossing the bridge. According to Jia Min, who is the driver, they are building a second bridge. So people won't have to cross through Butterworth to get to Penang. Pretty cool, right?
We went to two places. First stop is the cendol store. And like Day 1, it's filled with people. I think this one is more than Ipoh. More and more people arrived as the morning progresses. When I taste the cendol, it taste very much like peanut butter soup dad always love to drink back home. I manage to take a photo of the queue too. It was their idea for letting me take the photo btw =_=.

Second stop is a flea market at a mall (I forgot the name). The other party haven't reached yet, so we went on ahead first. There are a lot of varieties to see there. We bought a sewing kit on how to make your very on homemade teddy bear. Finally, we were met up by the others inside the air-conditioned mall. It was hot outside btw. They told us to go on our own first.
Inside the mall, first we went to a bakery shop (similar to Bake Ideas and Bake With Yen) called "Sugar". I saw so many new ingredients that we don't find much in KL. Jia Ning bought a bag with a recipe called 'Red Velvet cake'. Inside the bag has all the ingredients on the recipe attached to the bag. After all, she likes baking things :). Mom bought some food colouring. I also took some photos of the cakes displayed outside the shop. They look so cute.

Then we went outside. Ahh! Smell the fresh air and what a nice scenery of the pier.

We went into the bakery and they bought back some bread. Later, we went back inside and suddenly I saw a yogurt store. So, I give it a try. And it was delicious :). I ordered a mango flavoured yogurt. To the sisters, it taste horrible. Lol!
Next is a restaurant with Snoopy and Charlie Brown characters. Looks pretty new to us. Some of the things displayed were similar to the ones in Universal Studio Japan. Mom should know all these because she went there last year for a student exchange program.

After that is lunch at a duck rice restaurant. I didn't eat much because of the yogurt.
Third stop is another market near Kek Lok Si temple. This time the other party did not joined us. The temple is located at the top hill below the market. And the biggest attraction of all is the huge statue of The Merciful Goddess (Guan Yin). We didn't go up the temple due to the heavy traffic flow.

At the market, we bought something back for the whole family to eat, which is Asam Laksa (another famous food in Penang) and Lobak. We also bought ourselves a sugar cane drink to refresh ourselves. The Asam Laksa has to wait for awhile so me, mom and Jia Ning went to buy a hat which I was hunting for. And this is the reason why I followed them. Get the picture now?
Reached back to the house at last. What a day! My legs were kind of wobbly and I'm sweating from the heat. We enjoyed the wonderful food brought back from the market.
In the evening, they took us to a steamboat hawker store. Very delicious. We ate a lot that night. And again, it was also filled with people.

More adventures to come soon on Day 3 :)

Holiday in Penang - Day 1

Today I just came home from Penang. We had a real fun time there. So many new places to see. Some old places we've been before. The review is very long, so here's what we did in day 1:
Day 1 is mostly not many adventures yet because we were just getting started with the long journey to Penang. We woke up quite late because I accidently set up the wrong alarm. Silly me :P. After we washed up and have our breakfast outside at a nearby coffee shop in Len Seng, dad realised he has to go and do his business in the toilet (I'm not gonna mention that btw).
Once we're all finished with our toilet businesses, Penang here we come!!
It's kind of a long journey to Penang if you're travelling by car. But it depends on the hour of toilet and lunch breaks and whether you go inside Bidor, Ipoh or any of the rest place where there's a food court to have your meal. Because if you go inside any of those places, it will take longer hours for you to reach your destination (except when you need to go to the toilet).
We were hungry on the way, so we stop at Ipoh to have our lunch. And boy, it's really crowded that day. We tried a new cafe. Most of the food have run out really fast. So I ordered a nasi lemak with fried chicken. Mom likes the sambal very much. And what surprises me is that the drink doesn't comes with a cup or a glass but a bowl. It's like you're having dessert. Lol!

After lunch, back on the road. Good thing I brought along the program book Rebecca gave to me last two weeks before the Raya holidays for entertainment in the car :). Well, at least to keep me from boredom, if you ask me.
Around 5 pm, we reached Penang!! Yay!! My cousins, Jia Min and Jia Hao greeted us and help us carry our luggage up to our room. I had to sleep with the two sisters in their room because Jia Hao's room is too small to fit in three people. He still keeps his Sylvanian Family collection. Kind of girlish for a 15 year old boy :/.
At night, we had a simple dinner of rice with various types of meat and vegetables. Jia Hao did not joined us that night because he has tuition in preparation for PMR.
Back at their house, we were greeted by a stray cat named Xiao Niao (that's what they named it. Not sure if i heard it correct). The sisters told me it always comes to their house for food.

Inside the house, dad was watching a horror movie called "Insidious". After the cat goes away, we return back into the house to watch the remaining scenes. Of course, I wasn't looking at the tv most of the time. I was busy using the wi-fi from my mobile. After the movie, it's off to sleep and getting ready to start off the holiday in Penang :).

To be continued in Day 2....
